SUBMIT YOUR COMMENTS IN SUPPORT OF STUDENT DEBT RELIEF

The Department of Education will be holding a hearing on July 18th, 2023 to establish a negotiated rulemaking committee to prepare proposed regulations for the Federal Student Aid programs authorized under title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA).

In other words, they are preparing to tackle the issue of student loan debt! But we need your help. The Department of Education is asking for comments from the public on why we need to tackle student loan debt. It's crucial that your voices are heard! Please submit your comments to us in the box to the right. Tell us:

How urgent is it for our government to tackle student loan debt?

How would lowering student loan debt affect your life?

If Congress is not going to take action, do you think it's important for the Executive branch to step in?

Additionally, the Department of Education is looking for folks to testify at this virtual hearing. Would you be willing to give remarks for 3-4 minutes on why this is important? We will follow up with you to give you specific instructions on how to testify before the hearing panel.
